AbstractIn former times, the Kyrgyz forest specialist have been trained in the Sovjet Union. They have been well prepared for their work as Directors, searchers, specialists in the production, administrative and research sector. Today, the Republics of the foremer Sovjet Union - as Kyrgyzstan - would like to educate their forest specialists themself. Kyrgyzstan has actually some 40 Universities and four faculties, where forest engeneers are trained. The quantity of graduates will be very high (450 students are actually studiing at one of the forest faculty, for a need of 15 engeneers a year), but the quality may not be adequate to the rather complex situation of Kyrzgyzstan, whom’s political and economic system is in a transitional period. - There are no colleges for the practical specialists, the assistants of the forest engeneers are mainly trained on the job.
